Weapon Wednesday: Justin Fricke
Justin Fricke is truly an amazing weapon! He's ultra inspired by SPW and other artists that are working hard to push boundaries. Justin translated his email via google and then sent it to me so the english reads a little broken but you still get the picture! Thanks Justin for all the info and videos and if you'd like to see more than visit his youtube channel by clicking on the video titles.
"My first "encounter" with the semi precious weapons...
The SPW are to me the first time on the "Monster ball concert" noticed by Lady gaga. they were the opening. When I saw it the first time
I was shocked but also excited because they were fabulous and so "different". That was so cool! SPW
have rocked the show
!!
"Rock and Roll never looks so beautiful" - music video
"Rock and roll never looks so beautiful"
is my first video of the SPW and one of my longest videos. I had so many ideas that it hard was involve them all in the video.
But I have managed it with great music and creativity!
"Sticky with Champagne"
"Sticky with Champgane" was my second music video of the SPW.
The song is one of my favorite songs as I need to bring particularly. So I took each quantity Champanier bottles and turned off with my camcorder on it.
"Put a Diamond in it"
"Put a Diamond in it" is my third video it is not published, but a few words I say anyway it is a video with much violence and crime be! Also is there a continued "semi precious weapons". The two brand new videos will be published on this web site "semi precious weapons world" 1 week before!
My inspirations
My inspirations come from the scattered directions of the entertainment stars ´ like Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson or semi precious weapons inspire me. but their advantages and disadvantages their strengthen my life and weaken moments, thoughts or emotions inspired me especially.
Down from the stage in front of the camera
Already at the time when I still was a small child, I had
Role models like britney spears or other stars.
I sang and danced all day my parents brought excited to the doctor because they thought I was ill. But I was not sick! I played theatre and acted in the primary school. I acted in the theater and had many leading roles. I played with 10 years Simba in the film "The Lion King" I Mogli played with 12 years in the film "The jungle book".
But at some point I wanted to play no more theater, special films make. So I started to turn that are provocative macabre and sometimes a bit lazziv videos.
This geviel me especially the puplikum to shock.
Because the surprise is the moment is not expected.
Yours sincerely with exaggerated and swollen voice.
Justin Fricke"

Weapon Wednesday feat. Abby & Ellie!
Our featured precious weapons on this wonderful Wednesday are Abby and Ellie! You probably already know of them from their amazing SPW inspired videos on youtube. They were kind enough to let us feature them today, and when asked about SPW, this is what they had to say:
"We first heard semi precious weapons at the monsterball on the 5th of march, we fell in love instantly! we just kept listening to them and when we got the chance to go back to the monsterball we just couldn't miss it :) so as we ran past the stage doors to get into the queue we saw this tall bleach blonde headed man out the corner of our eyes, and we ran up to him and cole screaming! It was the best moment of our lives, he kissed us on the cheek and told us he loved our videos, which just meant the world to us! we got a picture and then sadly we had to say goodbye and go into the queue, everyone was staring at us as we were running to the back, holding hands, crying down the phone to our moms. they must of thought we were crazy. when we got into the Monster Ball it was just like before, epic and amazing and a night never to be forgotten. our favourite song is probably their title track semi precious weapons, i can remember at the first concert we saw the line "i cant pay my rent but im fucking gorgeous" on the bags and t-shirts as we went in, so we were already singing along to the chorus! :) they've changed our lives and influenced us in so many ways, I don't know what we'd have done without them. <3"

Weapon Wednesday: Chantal
This Wednesday our featured fan is a 22 year old Monster Weapon from Texas! Check it out!
"My name is Chantal Lesley, I'm 22 and an SPW fan from Brownsville, Texas. I first heard of Semi Precious Weapons back in 2008 when I saw their video for "Her Hair is on Fire" on Perezhilton's website.
Right after watching that video, I was hooked and started doing my research on them. I fell in love.
Some of my favorite Semi Precious Weapons songs are:
Semi Precious Weapons
Look at Me
Crack Open your Gorgeous Face
Magnetic Baby
When I found out they were touring with Lady Gaga I was ecstatic and took a cut out of Justin's face that I saw on their website to the Monsterball in June (2010). I was the only person in the crowd (maybe the arena for all I know) who had the cut out so when Justin first came out he instantly blew a kiss at me. Later on during their set, he threw their CD at me but it was ripped out of my hands, so instead he gave me his face cut out prop he uses on stage. After the show I went to get it signed and the boys recognized me and gave me another CD and signed it.
SPW inspire me because of their amazing energy, love for performing, their hard work ethic, and their love for rock n roll. At the Monsterball, my sister and I were starving, thirsty, tired but the second they got on stage it all went away because of the incredible energy we were able to feed off of. I decided to paint Justin's face shortly after experiencing their set using acrylics, and it was the first non-abstract painting I had ever done.
In September they announced that they were coming back to Houston, Texas so I knew I had to see them. I forced my boyfriend to go with me and drove six hours to see them and spent pretty much all but $12 in my checking account. I intended to either give Justin my painting or get it signed by them, but two hours into my trip I realized I had forgotten it :( I was still able to show Justin after their show because I had luckily taken a photo on my phone, so he kissed me on the cheek. (aw, shucks :D)
Weeks after the show, Justin actually posted a video I had recorded of my boyfriend and I kissing at the end of 'Look at Me'. Which I'm still in shock of!

Weapon Wednesday Friday!!!
Weapon Wednesday Friday is back!!!! With our featured fan AMY!!!! Amy, 22 from Pennsylvania sent us her photos and a really great e-mail about her love for the boys (Especially Cole) Read the e-mail Amy sent us and check out her artwork after the jump!
"My first SPW experience was December 2009 in NJ at the Monsterball Tour.
I left the concert & couldn't get SemiPreciousWeapons out of my head, I wanted more! I bought "WE LOVE YOU" & "YOU LOVE YOU" which seriously was life changing! Every lyric will be imprinted on my brain and heart forever!
I went to another Monsterball in 2010 so excited because I was now not only a fan but a proud Filthy GlaMOUR loving WEAPON.
Meeting them for the first time was amazing not only are they talented, but down to earth and sweet! I idolize everything they stand for!
Leaving my 2nd Monsterball we found a "Dirty Showbiz" flyer & I knew I JUST HAD to go.
So next came the most filthy, fun filled, champagne soaked night of my life. "Dirty Showbiz" rolled into town. A night I'll never forget! When SPW took stage they showed me that RockNRoll is still very much alive. I screamed, laughed, and danced my ass off the entire time even cried during "Leave your pretty to me" waving my cell in the air as my mom listened!
To see Cole and Dan switch places was amazing! Stevy rock out and Justin make you feel like your the only one in the room was priceless!
They're concert was unbelievable, and I love that they take out the time to meet their fans afterwards, true Rockstars in my book!
SPW has taught me to be myself, wear what I wanted and Schwerk the shit out of it! Its not just about the attitude but the new found confidence I have gained!
Because of SPW Ive met amazing fellow Weapons. They have opened up my eyes to other talented people like Darian Darling, Breedlove & many others.
So Thank You SemiPreciousWeapons For bringing RockNRoll back
and teaching me you Gotta Bleed to Heal, I'm a Genius Classic Case with a Gorgeous Face thats to Pretty to be a cowboy. It may sound shallow, YES! but Thats Kunt and I now know I've been Magnetic since I was a Baby!
Her Beauty is Best in Silence & Statues of Ourselves are pretty
much my anthem for life! YOU LOVE YOU before anyone else can! I went through a hard time but Leave your Pretty to Me sums up my experience, it was definitely my lullaby EVERY night for a good two months!
You guys are AMAZING individuals but together are UNSTOPPABLE. Ill never forget the explosive and filthy times you guys showed me at numerous Monster Balls but my favorite will always be your headline show in Philly!
Rock and Roll Never Looked So Beautiful as it does today because of
SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS!

Semi Precious Weapons on Bullying
As you can probably guess based on pretty much, well, everything about them, the guys of Semi Precious Weapons weren't exactly your average high school kids. Because of that, they were bullied just like every other teen who dares to stray from the social norm, and it's why, in light of the suicide of Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi — and a host of other gay teen deaths in recent months — they decided to tell their stories to MTV News.
SPW hope that, much like the message of the "It Gets Better" campaign, they can convince their fellow outcasts that, yes, life does improve once high school is over. Very much so, in fact.
"In every school, there's always the kid who gets it the worst, and I was, for sure, that kid," frontman Justin Tranter said. "Every time you had to get in a line that was boys and girls, it was like my worst nightmare. A lot of kids I know got made fun of for being gay; that was not my issue, I was just called a girl endlessly. I definitely was that kid. And when I went to high school, my first semester in public high school, it actually got very, very violent, to the point where I had to switch schools," he continued. "But luckily, I'm really blessed because my family was so cool that I never really felt bad about it ... [and] I used it as motivation to do something cooler. So instead of just switching schools, I convinced my parents to let me go to the arts high school in the city, and I had to audition and get in, and it was a very nerve-racking experience, because not only did I want to go to an arts school, but I needed to leave the school."
But while Tranter was picked on for his gender issues, SPW bassist Cole Whittle's experience was a bit different. He was both bully and the bullied, which gives him a rather unique perspective on things.
"I went through a period where I realized what a little a--hole I was, and went around my middle school and actually apologized to a bunch of kids. And then, in high school, I wouldn't say I was bullied, but being a musician wasn't cool," he explained. "I went from being a jock and a wrestler to being a musician over a summer. I showed up dressed like Kurt Cobain, and my friends were like, 'What the?' So, it has nothing to do with orientation, it just has to do with 'you don't look exactly like me,' and I think that's terrible.
"And also, bullying is worse now than it's ever been in human history, because now you can be a cowardly bully. ... Making fun of a kid 20 years ago in front of his face was bullying, but now you can sit at home and be an anonymous bully and reach three times the audience with your stupid computer," he continued. "Back in the day, the worst thing you could do was have four people on speakerphone and call some kid a loser, and it's like, 'Aw, that sucks.' But now it's getting to the point where it literally can cripple you. So if anybody has a bully they want to send to me, I'll choke him out, immediately."
And obviously, both men are living proof that life does get better once high school ends. They tour the world with Lady Gaga, party hard (and often) and command a loyal legion of fans. In fact, they consider themselves, as Tranter puts it, "the coolest guys on the planet." So much so that they wrote a song about their experiences — one that has become an anthem for their fellow outcasts.
"We have a song called 'Statues of Ourselves,' and now, when we're playing these headline shows, we look out, and whether it's girls who are overweight, or whether it's teens with gender issues, or whether it's the jock dude at our show who feels slightly out of place in our world, when that song starts, you can see [it] in people's faces," Tranter said. "This song it kind of, for me at least, it's my personal anthem and my friends' anthem, that it doesn't matter that people think we're losers, we think we're cool enough that we're going to build statues of ourselves."
And if all of that isn't enough, Whittle has one last piece of advice for anyone who's being bullied or feels like they just can't go on.
"Just know that the guys picking on you or saying sh--, one day, they'll be sitting in a Cheesecake Factory somewhere staring at their wife," he laughed. "And you'll be doing what we get to do every night. Trust me."

Semi Precious Weapons Talk 'Born this Way'
Being the opening act on Lady Gaga's never-ending Monster Ball Tour has afforded the gentlemen in Semi Precious Weapons some rather, uh, unique opportunities, the overwhelming majority of which we can't print here.
But there are perks besides the debauchery too — like getting to hear Gaga's ultra-anticipated new album Born This Way, which isn't due until next year. And after some prodding, we got SPW frontman Justin Tranter to give us a few details about the album, which, from the sound of things, is shaping up to be quite an experience.
"It's bold and it's beautiful," Tranter said. "Obviously, none of it's done, so I can't really speak on it, but the stuff she has played me is really, really beautiful and really, really bold."
That echoes what Gaga herself said about the album earlier this year, when she promised that Born This Way would feature "a lot of hit records that will piss people off." And she didn't stop there either.
"This album is my absolute greatest work I've ever done, and I'm so excited about it," she told RWD magazine. "The message, the melodies, the direction, the meaning, what it will mean to my fans and what it will mean in my own life — it's utter liberation."
And that sense of liberation stuck with Tranter too. Because based on what he's heard, Born This Way is definitely going to set some people free.
"Gaga was so excited when she found out the title of our album, You Love You. She couldn't believe it, because it fit so well into the idea of the Monster Ball and the ideas she's exploring on this album," he said. "Everything she says is that she really wants her new album to feel like freedom — that's what she keeps saying over and over."

World Premiere: Look at Me by Semi Precious Weapons!
The video for Semi Precious Weapons' new single, 'Look at Me', was released today on Rollingstone.com
“Our concept was really fucking simple,” says Semi Precious Weapons singer Justin Tranter, describing the New York glam-rockers’ new video for the ballad “Look At Me,” off You Love You. “Have me sit on the bed of a dirty motel room, while two stunning people are making love. Kind of like I'm the narrator of their sex — but making sure it all looks as real, honest and beautiful as the song is.” Watch Rolling Stone's exclusive premiere of the NSFW video, co-directed by Tranter with Cass Bird and Nicole Erlich, above. The band, who made a cameo in Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone" video, will headline their own tour before returning as the opening act on the U.S. leg of Gaga’s Monster Ball tour in 2011.
